Why did the kitty cross the road

Why did the kitty cross the road

... to find his kitty friend. Had 2 young lions cross the road in front of me on my way home from work the other night. One stopped in the middle of the road for a minute, blinded by my headlights. I always wanted to photograph a lion in the wild... I was hoping for a little more than from the car with a cell phone, but hey.... I will take what I can get for now. :0)

Why

Because it was his purrogative?

Re: Why

It was also his prerogative to stop in the middle of the road. He was lucky that I barely saw a couple shadows as I came up the hill, or he might have been a flat kitty.

I'm glad I didn't run he or his friend over. :0)

Re: Splat! Flat cat.

Maybe this cat wanted to appear in a Pretenders
video called ...

"The Middle of the Road."

Re: I've...

I live in the mountains, and this was my 3rd sighting. I have often seen tracks, even in my own yard. Usually, they are running across the road, or you just get a glimpse. I was thrilled to even get a poor shot with the cell phone. :0)

Re: It was nighttime ...

There are plenty of rabbits around, so that is very possible. Better that they are hunting bunnies, than me. lol. :0)

Cat?

I spotted one a few months ago on the road to our ski area and when I first saw it I thought someone had dumped their domestic cat out the door. I made a quick decision to pull over and see if I could catch it when the cat sprung into the air and took off running full speed. I quickly realized that I was about to try and pick up a wild bobcat.

Re: Cat?

You might have had your hands full. We have a few bobcats in the area too. Both are rare to sight. I know they are around though, because I see their "little kitty" tracks.
