What kind of flowers?

My oldest brother once berated my for identifying every known peak in some photos while I refered to the "wooley actenella" in the foreground as yellow flora... Since then my botany skills have dramaticaly improved.

Re: What kind of flowers?

I'm no flower expert, but I would guess that these are blooms of either the Bush Sunflower or the Hairy Golden Aster both of which are in the Aster family.

Re: What kind of flowers?

Definitly a balsamroot (genus Balsamorhiza). I would guess Balsamorhiza sagittata, but hard to tell for sure from the picture.
