Nice family tour with good weather
Very nice skitour from Engstligenalp. Recommended!
Solo summit from cran-montana
Not a special climb, but epic views over the mountains of Valais!
With 8 Boy Scouts and 4 adulta. Started at Sunnbuel cable car and spent the night at Lammeren Hut. Diverted to Gemmi and took cable car down to Leukerbad.
On skis. A day-trip from Leukerbad (Gemmi cableway). Prefect weather and good conditions.
In the afternoon of September 8th I went up to the Flueseeli, stayed over night at the non-guarded refuge, left next morning at 4:00 a.m., arrived at the Lenker Strubel at 8:00 a.m. and spent the entire day up on the Wildstrubel plateau. The weather was one of the finest I've ever had in the mountains, and so clear that you could distinguish meadows from forests in the Jura way in the distance! On a day like that, the view to the Pennine Alps, the Mont Blanc massif but also to the mountains of the Pays d'Enhaut plus the large plateau of the Glacier de la Plaine Morte right below is fascinating!
From Biel/Bienne by car, than hike to the summit of Wildstrubel. Afterwards Klein Schneehorn through Lammerenjoch and chasing with a storm during descent to Simmental. Nice mountain day.
Landed in Geneva from California. Drove to Lenz, slept in car and summited the next day. Found hike in lonely planet "Alps" book. 2000meter elevation gain, tiring yet rewarding hike, got altitude sick towards the top. Met two old swiss guys who overtook me 100 meters from the top. I was in bad shape when I arrived, they gave me chocolate to re-energize! Very memorable.

Beautiful Skitour to the Wildstrubel 3244m

On skis from Lämmeren hut to the middle summit. Descent back to the hut then traversed over Roter Totz to Schwarenbach where we spent the night to climb Rinderhorn the day after.
I've also skied Grossstrubel several times bevore on the route from Engstligenalp.
Again I went up the famous Gemmi way from Leukerbad and further on to the Lämmeren hut for a night sleep. On hard snow I reach the summit in full sunshine, (July 13, 1995).
Nice and easy glacier travel with some friends (2 rope parties) on a perfectly sunny day. Excellent view in all directions.
Going there on a public holiday this is a _very_ popular tour. But conditions and weather were great. Doing this in spring with ski is easier than walking over steep glaciers in summer
