Williams Mountain rises above the basin to its east. This photo was taken on Oct 2, 2005. The lush greens of the vegetation were nothing but a memory by this point. This basin was so quiet, and not just quiet in the lack of sound sense, it was surreal. Lower down in the mountains the aspens were busy spending the last of their gold, while up here the dormant flora were patiently waiting for their winter blanket of snow. In less than a week the snow came.
