Route Climbed: Wind Mountain Trail Date Climbed: May 11 & May 25, 2004  Sucess!

Another one, like Olallie Butte, where the local Indians would rather you stay away. No signs at the trailhead and the trail isn't on any map. Despite its short length, this is a really nice hike and one of the best in the Gorge in my opinion. First time I did this as part of Hamilton/Wind/Dog in a day, the second time I combined Wind and Dog, then headed part way back up Dog for 5k ft of elevation gain.

Route Climbed: Wind Mountain Trail Date Climbed: February 1, 2004 and like a year before  Sucess!

This is a good first season warm-up to get the legs back in shape if you haven't done anything for a while. Did this sometime in 2003 and then again in 2004 as part of a Dog and Wind Mountain training day. It's a great way to get 4100 feet in a day on low elevation peaks that are usually snowfree in winter. (I said "usually", there was tons of snow and ice on Dog this past winter.)

Can be kind of hard finding the trailhead. Just head down from the parking area and keep looking right until you find a faint trail heading up southwest from the road.

3/26/06-With Anette after doing Dog. Quick easy one to get 4000 in today. Was sunny going up, windy and rainy up top, then sunny again on the way down. Fun day.

Jan 2008 after doing something else to get more elevation.

6/14/09 With Luna, did two laps. Windy. Sunny. Good time.

6/15/13 With my brother and Luna. Warm day, great views.
