Surprising lack of bolts  Sucess!

As the title suggests, we were surprised to find no bolts when the only data available suggests bolts. You can fiddle in some tiny C3 cams (nothing above a BD .3) and some tiny to medium nuts, if you’d like, but it’s basically a solo until 3/4 of the way up at the good nut placements. It’s a long hike for that surprise but fortunately the grade is in our comfort zone. I just don’t want other folks to get the same surprise.

Summit register on top was soaked through with water actually held inside the little plastic jar meant to protect the book. We did our best to dry it out but an inspired party might want to bring something more water-proof up and maybe a fresh book.

Rap bolts and rings in good condition.

Beautiful spot, nice views, and I can’t believe it’s not hot here yet!

Fun!  Sucess!

Taking the "scenic" route along the boulder-infested northern ridge to the monument got us warmed up for running out the route on Winnedumah....who needs a nut? pfffft Super fun for a short little climb.

Rainy and cold  Sucess!

Bob led and it started hailing while he was about half way up. I was ready to chicken out (I hate cold and wet rock) but Matthew climbed it so I resigned myself to go up -- thankfully top-roped.

Nice Hike  Sucess!

Nice hike... about 3 hours from the main dirt road..5 miles or so one way. I obviously missed the easier way to get there
