Worlverine Peak summit
I've climbed it from Prospect Heights various times and enjoy it as a mega tough mountain run. I also have summited the peak from the Williwaw Lakes and via the long ridgeline from Mt. Elliott. My favorite time was a cold New Year's Day. Brian Griggs and I started under a bright moon (no headlamp needed) at 3am.

Great hike
Started from Prospect hieghts and made the trek via the traditional route. Almost called the trip off because of a rainstorm moving in, but I was glad I didn't because I was rewarded with one of my favorite views ever one I reached the top. Saw Anchorage behind me covered with rainclouds while the setting sun burned an orange glow right through the rain. Amazing. Been up two or three times since and enjoyed it every time.
Climbed several times while living in Anchorage on Sidoroff Lane between 1983-5. Once with Brock Anstine and once with my wife

Route: Prospect Heights-Up the valley-Up to the ridgeline after Rusty Point
I live up on Nearpoint, and my friend Seth that took me grew up in these mountains, so he knew about a trail that connected into the Prospect Heights Trail. There was quite a bit of snow, but it had been pretty cold for most of this winter at that point, so it was pretty packed and windblown into the valley. Once we got just passed Rusty Point in the valley, we headed up to the ridgeline. It was about 6-7 degrees in the valley, then once we got on that straight shot that connects to the ridge that Wolverine is in, the temps dropped to about 4-5 degrees. The day was awesome, though. Clear and sunny, and we headed back just in time to catch the sunset over the inlet. Great hike. We plan on doing Wiliwaw Peak in May, and we are going to head to Wolverine then straight back to Wiliwaw.
Started out at 7am. Summited 3.5 hours later. Great climb, nothing technical. Freeze line was at 4,000ft so the last 500ft was in light snow. Vis was terrible for looking around at the surrounding peaks but the beauty of nothing but rock and ice was fantastic. Plenty of Moose and a old plane wreck to look at.

Part of a long day in the ChugashHeavy snow year kept it lingering well past usual. A slog with lots of post-holing during a long day hitting several trails in the Chugash.
