Given a high chance of t-storms on this day, it was only supposed to be a recon/rest day on my 8 day trip to get Lake City bicentennials. I wondered how far up Cinnamon Pass the Subi would go. One spot at about 11,500ft stopped me. I wasn't ready to rest, so I started walking up the road at 9:45am. Got to Wood's summit at 11:15. Even though weather was gathering, I wanted to get Animas Forks Mtn at least. But after getting caught in a t-storm between Pole Creek and NW Pole 2 days before I decided to play it safe. I had hoped to come back later in the week, but didn't get back there.

Cinnamon Pass Tour
Climbed Wood along with "Animas Forks", PT 13708, PT 13688, Gravel and PT 13427. Hiked up the road from near the base of Cleveland Gulch, which would be my eventual descent after PT 13427.
Route note: to combine PT 13688 descend all the way to the PT 13427-Wood saddle. A short talus gully (with goat paths!) takes you into Horseshoe Basin where you can traverse across the basin and ascend via Gravel and avoid all the chossy nonsense closer to Wood.

From Cinnamon Pass
Nice mountain, odd name.
Hiked along with Cinnamon Mountain, Point 13,535, Gravel Mountain, Point 13,688, Point 13,708 and Animas Forks Mountain.
Got COMPLETELY lucky with the weather. Clouds and drizzle forced a hasty retreat down. Ended up doing a mile walk on the road back to the pass. A very long but satisfying morning.

nice hike
nice hike on a rainy and foggy day with Duchess, en route to other 13ers, just a short run up before my son woke up in the car. We slept below Cinammon Pass.
Up east slopes, down west slopes.
2nd time 8/11/16 - on the way to Point 13,708 and then Animas Forks Mountain. Nice day, but was tired (slept only 1.5 hrs, worked till midnight and then go paged for c/s at 2 am). Slept for 1 hr on the top of Animas Forks Mountain.

Cinnamon Pass 13er loop
From Cinnamon Pass, made nice loop over Wood Mountain, UN 13688, "Animas Forks Mountain", Cinnamon Mountain and UN 13535. A nice fall day with some snow to negotiate.
Another consolation peak as we had to change our plans due to bad weather in the area. Nice and short hike from the pass.

Climbed from Cinammon for m Bachelor Party
Climbed from the pass and the two other high 13er points to the West or left looking up from Cinnammon Pass. The next one over had a "metal pole so I called it "Mount Metal" (rock on.) The next one over had a nice narrow section like the Sawtooth Ridge of Beirschtadt. I called this last summit in the group Fauna Peak to complete the "Twenty Question's Trio."
