World High Peaks

A map showing the distribution of the world's high peaks. Note how Denali is an anomaly for 6000m peaks as it is so close to the Arctic circle and much farther north than the rest of the peaks of similar or higher elevation. This contributes to Denali's reputation of being harder and having more extreme weather than peaks of equal or greater elevations at the lower latitudes.
