NW ridge

This is actually the NW ridge of Wotans Throne. I just climbed Wotans Throne yesterday (Feb 17 2008) and I saw the north face. The north face is more like Sierra 4th class approaching low 5th class.

Yes, correct. I mostly head due north off the summit then angle NW toward the bottom. The photo is looking straight up NW.

Is the register still there? I got a note from Bob R that it had gone missing...

I think you must have missed it. The register was there as of 10/16/08 and it was installed in 2002. It is in a small can than slides inside a larger can.
