Wright in September  Sucess!

The bomber wreckage on the peak is very eerie to walk around. Great view of Algonquin, along with Colden and Marcy just behind. Got stuck on top due to time - bivy'ed in 40-50 mph winds that lasted all night long. Not much sleep.

Route Climbed: From the Loj to Algonquin, caught Wright on descent Date Climbed: September 3, 2005  Sucess!

My 3rd peak of the day! I had planned to get Wright first, but decided to make this the last hurrah after Algonquin/Iroquois, and it was a good idea. An invigorating homestretch; treeline seems particularly low on this one, so lots of bare rock from 4100 on.

Route Climbed: South Meadows Campsite to Marcy Dam to summit Date Climbed: July 10, 2005  Sucess!

After a weekend of being socked in by remnants of Hurricane Cindy ~ we had a perfect summit day on Wright! Algonquin was "in our face" and the views were spectacular in every direction.

Route Climbed: From Marcy Dam Date Climbed: August 15, 2004  Sucess!

Climbed up through the clouds to find myself alone in the mist on the summit. Algonquin was obscured when I summited but the clouds soon gave way to an awesome view of the second highest peak in the Adirondacks. Headed back down to the trail junction and started up Algonquin.

Route Climbed: ADK Loj, standard Algonquin trail Date Climbed: 31 August, 2003  Sucess!

Temp. low-50s to start. Trails in fine condition, quite rocky but nothing too arduous. Encountered a moderate number of hikers, still a very comfortable hike. Reached summit in about 2.5 hours. Peak was only a bit cooler, wind under control.

The summit was not busy at all, only a few small groups. Thanks to one, I found the bomber wreckage and plaque on the northeast side. Views were great, nice clear day. Well-worth the side-trip on the way to the busy summit of Algonquin.
