Otherworldly Beauty  Sucess!

Went here with my family. We had visited Grand Teton National Park the day before, I was somewhat disappointed as the Tetons were blocked entirely from view by clouds. This is an amazing place, one of my favorites. We saw Old Faithful erupting, undoubtedly one of the coolest things I have ever seen, and visited the other geyser basins in the area, including the Grand Prismatic area and Biscuit Basin. The geysers were all amazing, the cold weather made tons of steam, which gave the whole area a neat atmosphere. I will definitely be back in summer for comparison. Highly recommended!

Easy to Ditch Crowds Off the Beaten Path  Sucess!

I have been to Yellowstone many times. It is amazing how fast you can ditch the crowds if you get up early in the morning and avoid the tour bus sites.

Super Volcano - Do Not Disturb  Sucess!

Visited our country's first national park for the 3rd time during September. Steamboat Geyser, the world's tallest currently active geyser, didn't erupt this time either. Steamboat creates a water column more than 300' tall lasting from three to forty minutes. Old Faithful's average water column averages just 145' tall. Steamboat last erupted on September 3, 2015. Looks like I'll be returning again.

On our honeymoon...  Sucess!

Nice way to begin a marriage. Several years ago, but we remember it well and fondly.

several visits  Sucess!

The best visit was during a winter - limited access, limited people. Summers are a zoo…
What a place… being able to compare this to other geyser places in the world - this one is the best.

Multiple Trips  Sucess!

Lived in Powell during my high school years and visited several times per year along with several other trips since then. Too many people, but still an amazing place.

Norris & Old Faithful  Sucess!

I'm visiting family in Idaho Falls, so I drove up to Yellowstone for the day. Visited Norris and Old Faithful, and Biscuit Basin and Midway, as well as Terrace Spring and Beryl Spring. It was rainy and dreary most of the day. Plenty of bison about, a few walking down the road. Not a lot of people, a few tourists at Norris & OF. Much of the park is still closed: there's still a ton of snow up there.

Great weekend  Sucess!

Spent three days "resting" in the park after an unsuccessful hike to Granite Peak in Montana. I never thought I would get tired of seeing the thermal areas, but I did. Fairy Falls was worth the walk, even in completely busted sneakers. Wish I had done Bunsen, but I forgot to go back after swimming in the thermally heated river. I could easily spend another week there and never get bored.

Yellowstone  Sucess!

Living in Idaho, Yellowstone is a relatively short drive so I have visited the park many, many times including the middle of winter for the ski racing. I have climbed in the Beartooth range but not within the park boundary. I did see my first wolf in the park a few years ago and have seen many since.

Family trip

Visited as a kid. I remember geysers and bison. Views of the Tetons nearby were more memorable and will draw me back.
