tough time getting onto Sunnyside Bench

Hi - I have had a devil of a time finding the correct pathway/route up onto Sunnyside Bench from the rockslide, and while we found some cairns and some footpaths, none of them seem to lead to anything as substantial as shown in the photos here and elsewhere. We have been stopped cold by a steep, loose area of dirt and rock about 100 yards west of the top of the rockslide, in the woods, mostly because we did not want to destabilize or erode the area. We also found an occupied rattlesnake hole at this very location. Were we in the right place? Or should we have turned west lower down? I'd love to see a detailed description of what to do at the top of this rockslide...

Thanks, and happy to be here...

Re: tough time getting onto Sunnyside Bench

Unfortunately it's been a few years and I can't say for sure, but I suspect you climbed too high before turning left off the rockpile. I don't recall anything too bad getting to the path atop the bench.
