Thank you for all the beautiful pictures and the good info. It looks great. You are right, there are so many mountains in Iran. Even if I spend the rest of my life coming to Iran to climb during the summer, I still won't be able to see them all!



I grew up learning that Zard Kooh was 4547 m high. To this date, many atlases of the world show this figure. It was only a few years ago that I saw most Iranian internet sites saying 4221 m. From what you say, it seems like 4547 is the elevation of Dena Peak.

Well Dena is a vast sub-range of Zagros, with different parts like Alborz ... Ghash-e-Mastan is the tallest of Dena and Zagros 4547 (reliable references)

Thanks for the info. I have been reading about the Dena area having 40 peaks higher then 4000 m. I also wonder how many 4000 m peaks there are in Kerman area!
