Kings Peak summit

Kings Peak summit

On the annual Wasatch Mountain Club 1 day ski trip to Kings Peak, the highpoint of Utah, 32 miles RT. You know it gets windy up here because the summit was bare even though we received two separate 1 foot snow dumps in the preceding week. 3-28-2009

I like this one

better than the group shot. I can see the smile even under all that head gear.

Happy climbing,
Marc

Re: I like this one

Thanks, if you think I have on a lot of head gear in that picture, you should see what I usually wear. They call me the "mystery skier".

Re: I like this one

An 'aura of mystery' is a great thing to
project to the rest of the world.

I'd like to see more photos of folks posting photos of themselves on cold & windy summits.

You go girl!

If it takes 5 layers to stay warm go for it!
And the less bare flesh the better!

Re: You go girl!

Thanks Kathy! There's a highway exit that I pass by every few weeks called "Silver Summit" and I think of you whenever I drive by.

Mrs. Zee ...

Your attention, please! May I attach this
beautifully haunting photograph to my "Mountains of Smiles" album ??

Thank you. Thank you very much!

How much snow did ya all get up there ???

Re: Mrs. Zee ...

Mr El,

Sure, that would be nice.

Not much snow at my house, an inch or less, but it's snowing at the moment. The snotel near Snowbird is reporting 70" and a week ago was reporting 30". I don't think lower elevations got that much though.
