that is an amazing picture
Thanks Woodzy, the morning sun caching the West Face.
The two figures are making the obvious traverse along the Couloir towards the Gabel notch !
Oh thank you very much anita :)
The alpenglow, the steepness, the snow, the cloud bank all come together here. Looks like a great climb!
Thanks Noondueler, the Zinalrothorn is a magnificent mountain, the climbing after the Gable notch from the Biner Slabs to the summit is fantastic, a very worthwhile route at a steady grade of AD-
Very lucky to catch this sided sunlight!
Somehow I missed this one until now, great photo! When I climbed Zinalrothorn this summer it was in a thick fog and I couldn't see anything. I summitted before 7am and an electrical storm began two minutes later! Thanks for posting. It shows the route very well.
Thanks PAROFES, yes really lucky !
Thanhs Sarah, It was our second attempt, dwarfed by knee deep snow on the first day snowed lots !
Second day was perfect, you made really good time to be on the summit for 7am, what time did you leave the hut ?
We left the hut about 3:30. The hutkeeper changed the wake-up time from 4am to 3am because of the forecast for bad weather coming in late morning.
That is a stunning shot.
thanks very much norco 17 :)
much apreciated missymtngirl.... :D
The light, the colors, the moment, the whole composition of it - fabulous!!
Wow ! Gulp, right place, right time I think, thanks.
Really beautiful moment to catch.....Nice light, people ahead of you, fantastic scenery... Just as SP photo should be!
Thanks justahiker, failed on the route the previous day with bad weather, had to turn back at 3,700m.
This day was special, great light and I guess people in the photograph helps as well, cheers!
Looks like powdered sugar on the edge of a boiling cauldron. It was a nice climb, wasn't it?
