Amazing

Thanks Woodzy, the morning sun caching the West Face.
The two figures are making the obvious traverse along the Couloir towards the Gabel notch !

Yes! Really beautiful!

The alpenglow, the steepness, the snow, the cloud bank all come together here. Looks like a great climb!

Yes! Really beautiful !

Thanks Noondueler, the Zinalrothorn is a magnificent mountain, the climbing after the Gable notch from the Biner Slabs to the summit is fantastic, a very worthwhile route at a steady grade of AD-

Awesome photo!

Somehow I missed this one until now, great photo! When I climbed Zinalrothorn this summer it was in a thick fog and I couldn't see anything. I summitted before 7am and an electrical storm began two minutes later! Thanks for posting. It shows the route very well.

Re - Awsome photo !

Thanhs Sarah, It was our second attempt, dwarfed by knee deep snow on the first day snowed lots !
Second day was perfect, you made really good time to be on the summit for 7am, what time did you leave the hut ?

Re: Re - Awsome photo !

We left the hut about 3:30. The hutkeeper changed the wake-up time from 4am to 3am because of the forecast for bad weather coming in late morning.

Love this shot!

Looks like powdered sugar on the edge of a boiling cauldron. It was a nice climb, wasn't it?
