Overview
The summit of Zvolen is in the eastern part of the Vel`ka (Great) Fatra, in the back of the watershed, Vah river separating the north and the south of the river Hron.
It is the highest peak in the group of Zvolen, located on the ridge between Donowalską Pass (słow. Donovalské Saddle, 950 m asl) in the east and pass to the west Veľký Šturec. Like most of the Great Fatra mountains, has a gentle, rounded summit.
Getting There
The best starting place is Donovaly - famous ski resort, situated at road No. 59, connecting towns Banska Bystrica and Ruzemberok.
From Donovaly there`s cabin - chairlift to Nova Hola, from here is only several minutes approach, without lift - from Donovaly - about 1 hour to summit. Summit offers wonderful, extensive panorama of highest ridges form Western Carpathians: Tatras, Lower Tatras, Velka and Mala Fatra, Velky Choć.
