Route Climbed: Mt. Evans Road from Echo Lake
A cold, lonely, windy day. I was glad all the discomfort paid off in getting my first summit of 2009. Hauled snowshoes to the summit but they were never needed. Avalanche conditions were inviting after the recent dry spell..took 4 hours from Echo Lake to summit and 3 hours down..

From Summit Lake
Enjoyed this mountain along with Mount Warren from Summit Lake. We headed out, actually, to hit Spalding and Evans, but the black-bellied clouds were building by 7:00 AM, so we changed plans. I was pleasantly surprised by the boulder scrambling on/near the summit. Partner: Husband.
