Paulo, medicine is mostly science but still has some "art" left in it. This means that even doctors aren't 100% sure or right (I know, I am one). The only thing anyone knows for sure is that fighting gives you your best chance. Having a partner like Lilianne must be great too for support!

Underdogs win too!

Every time I log onto SP, I first look for your update, and I'm always pulling for you.

Best wishes and much luck Paulo. If anyone can get through this, you can!

Woodie

You've fought a hard fight Paulo. Maybe your body might give out on you, but until then don't give up in spirit.

"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

But I refuse to believe this is the end. In this life I have found that I find myself going against the dark cold evidence that I am faced with. For some of us the odds are not in our favor. Far from it. It's not that I don't believe the possibilities of the evidence I see. Sometimes I am haunted by it. But at the same time it is truly amazing how far a shred of hope can take someone. Even a small act of kindness such as what you mentioned about Lilianne coming and making your day. So Paulo while you may give up on yourself, don't give up on the people who love you or care about you. I'm not saying this from the perspective of "things just work out", because they often don't. I have personally seen some awful scenarios play out. But I do believe in miracles.

I am not trying to compare my suffering to yours, but I want to let you know that your not alone in the midst of suffering. Last night I became emotionally conscience of many bad things that had happened and it's deep effects it was having in the world I live in today. I cried so hard for a long time, I had the intense sensation of ringing all around. It was like silent fury, while once again caught in intense loneliness. I felt so worn out by it that I fell asleep many hours before I normally do right after I was done crying.

Anyways my point is that maybe I don't fully understand your situation, but I have an idea of what your going through. To face a serious possibility of death and to go through a battle that you see as a lost cause. And finally to give up hope. Those are the worst kinds of battles. But in this you have shown us one man's will to live and passion for life. For that I give you my earnest appreciation.

Wish I could be physically standing by your side in this. I am hoping for the best and believe you can still make it. God bless Paulo.
