Description

I split my time between Portland, OR and SLC, UT. I have more available time to do climbs including mid-week. I have done more alpine than rock climbing. Looking for a climbing partner that would want to do conditioning hikes/climbs, trad/sport rock climbing, gym climbing, and some major peaks.

Can do faster pace but prefer pace that I can maintain for the long haul. Recently did 17+ mile round trip, 3000 ft elevation gain hike/climb roundtrip in 8 hours starting at about 6100 feet. Have done Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah and Mexico peaks. Will be available after September 17 and will hopefully have completed Monch, Jungfrau, Eiger and Kilimanjaro.

I have an easy-going nature - my climbing is my vacation - and so I go to have fun.

	In Portland, an OUTSTANDING group to go hiking/climbing with is the Mazamas. They are in the phone book. You can go on a lot of their trips and not be a member. Call them up and send them about $12 and they'll send you their monthly bulletin which has their hikes/climbs/ski trips/snowshoe trips/kayak trips/other stuff. They have day hikes EVERY weekend, and some during the week. They offer a Basic Climbing class also. I think there is still a Sierra Club chapter in Portland also. There are other groups as well. I am a member of the Mazamas. They're AWESOME! I suspect there are similar groups in Utah: Wasatch Mountain Club? Sierra Club? etc.
