Description

plan to climb Mount Elbert this coming March 8th 2009. My wife and I will attempt to climb Elbert on snow shoes up to tree line where we hope the wind has blown most of the snow away. Will approach from the Twin Lakes trail head. Called rangers and they advise this is the best road and trail head in the winter. Round trip is about 18 miles. Will start very early in the morning before the snow on the lower slopes in the trees begins to melt off the crust.

Any one interested in joining please contact me at
