Description
I'm on a ten-month work contract, and am on furlough between early June and the end of July. I'd like to fill my "Compulsory Vacation" with some long-distance backpacking (and river) trips around the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, specifically the Selway Crags area. Also would like to explore the Gospel Hump and other Idaho Wildernesses by foot. I wouldn't mind a couple of "warm-up" trips to the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness, or along some river canyons before mid-June. Also could go north to the Mallard-Larkins or other wilderness or "wilderness" areas in the N Fork Clearwater or St. Joe drainages.
I'm into ridge-running, hopping from lake to lake, some cross-country travel, and maybe a little 3rd-class scrambling, but mostly being high and away from people. I have two fun and able-bodied dogs who would love to go, too. Not too much into ice travel or technical climbing.
