Description
Hey all, is there anyone out there that would be want to join me for a summer 2013 climb of mount blanc?
The plan would be to go with a guide and take a basic course in the days before attempting the ascent. As some background on me, I'm 35, in good physical shape, and have done a good amount of hiking (including using crampons), but have no mountaineering experience.
If an American responds, I'd be up for flying out to your area to do a hike or two together to make sure this would work for both of us.

iamcalledtom | climbing partner | | | Hello all, I'll send direct emails to both of you (but if two people are in the discussion it may be easier to post here).
Unfortunately I can climb at any period from June through August except early July. I have to be in the US from July 1-19, and through the 26th it will also be difficult.
However, I am keen on climbing in June. | Posted Mar 20, 2013 9:44 pm |
Marty32 | hi | |
| My plan is to get to chamonix on 28th june. I was planning to do mont blanc again and then onto matterhorn with a friend. Sadly he has had to drop out. I still plan to go out there and possibly meet up with a climber. What route are you planning on? | Posted Mar 21, 2013 4:48 pm |
iamcalledtom | climbing partner | | | I'm afraid I'm going to need to drop out of this--I got a response from another forum for someone with a guide that needs one more person. I'll be going with them.
But it seems as though there is a good bit of interest here. Perhaps some of you could link up together? | Posted Mar 21, 2013 10:23 pm |
"How do you distinguish between being off-route and putting up a first ascent?"
