Description

I'm an avid backpacker with basic climbing experience. It's been almost 10 years (I'm 28 years old) since I've climbed seriously. I've climbed St. Helens and attempted Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier (Emmons). Bad weather prompted our turnarounds on Baker and Rainier. I'm looking for an experienced climber who likes to educate newer climbers. Much of what I need will be a refresher course. I live in the midwest now, so moutaineering courses aren't easy to come by! I'm self-sufficient in the outdoors and in good shape. I'm looking at the week of August 28th, 2006, but I'm somewhat flexible. Another climber with similar experience as me is also interested in making the climb. Suggestions, thoughts, and/or interested parties?

I might be able to make those dates. I am looking to do an Emmons Rt climb this late summer. Keep in touch, maybe we can make this climb.

So have you made up your mind about this climb? I emailed about the interest in joining the "group" for the climb. Can you tell me whether or not it is a hike or more of a climb?

I've done some hiking but not the vertical climbing.

Please advise.

PBR-I don't know if am a seasoned veteran but I've done Rainier and Baker and might be able to do Rainier again over Labor Day, and I do a little instruction on glacier travel and crevasse rescue now and then. Let me know how solid this is looking. BTW I am moving to the Kansas City area from the Eastern Sierra for a year's sabbatical, so am looking for weekend partners for the climbing areas rumored to be in Oklahoma. Cheers, Scott

I climbed Rainier and Baker last year, just got off Mt Whitney about 2 weeks ago. Wife is about to have a baby so probably cannot make this trip but would be interested in other trips. Live about 2 hours away from you. We are planning a quick CO trip sometime this summer and will hopefully be doing lots of climbing at Sam's or HCR. Good climbing in OK too.

I am arriving in seattle on Sat Aug 12th and departing Mon. Aug 21st. I am planning on spending the week on Rainier and currently do not have any partners. I am open to most routes. I have climbed Rainier 2x and am of average climbing ability. I am not interested in a 2 day run to the top.

If anyone is planning on being there during this week, let me know and maybe we can hook up.

Thanks,
Craig

I did Whitney in April and am keen to get experience on crevaces/glaciers on Rainier around the dates mentioned. If this goes ahead count me in, although I'd be learning some skills from new too. Cheers - Martin.
