Well looks like the Colorado trip for my leave from Afghanistan is falling through. Looks now like I am headed to the Northeast with my father. Probably going to be about a week long trip. Going to drive north in two days to Baxter State Park, climb Mt. Katahdin via the Cathedral Route, drive down into the Presidentials in NH, looking at the possibility of hitting Madison, Adams, Jefferson, Clay and Washington in one big swing, and then finally driving down into the Adirondacks and doing Marcy before heading home. Very ambitious for a week long trip and also susceptable to weather conditions.
"How do you distinguish between being off-route and putting up a first ascent?"
