Description
As my regular partners have been getting old and no longer play I am trying something that I am not so sure is the smartest thing out there. I am looking for someone to climb something interesting and big in the spring. Looking to do an expedition to Alaska, Canada or anywhere else that takes a few weeks, I have to fly to from Colorado and doesn't cost an arm and a leg(well maybe just an arm). Anyway, I am trying to get this out there so we have time to get to know one another, see if we can exist without killing each other in a tent and we are both motivated to get after it. I would love to do the Cassin Ridge or Waddington or Mt. Hunter or something like that.
Anyway, I have been climbing for years. Not a hot shot rock or ice climber but I can make do . I have climbed the west butt on Denali, in Bolivia and all around Colorado. I have also climbed a bit in Nepal (Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Leboche) So I know what I am doing, more or less. If this at all sounds interesting let me know. I would like to find someone experienced in mountaineering but if you have the basic skills and are safe I will talk and climb with just about anyone.
cheers

| Hi
interesting post! i was thinking along the same lines myself. Its not that my partners are old but its just i cant find anyone motivated enough to try a big piece of the pie with me. I have been around the block a few times myself. Nothing to big, i have done a good few climbs in the alps, sierras and some Scottish winter climbing. Been into mixed stuff quite a bit in the last few years.
I am living in California at the moment and on a bit of a hiatus from climbing for a few weeks/months.
I plan to come out to CO some time in the next month or two. If you are interested in trying something, it might be a good introduction. I also have a few trips planed for the Canadian rockies upcoming as well if you are interested. I just put a post up on the partners section on SP looking for a Ruth Gorge partner. Would you be into climbing something there??
I am a pretty easygoing guy. irish, 27, work all sorts of jobs so i dont really claim to be anything.
We should keep in contact anyhow and maybe try for something in the new year.
cheers

Epica | Sounds interesting... | |
| I just got back from climbing in Ecuador and I don't want to stop! My year is pretty much open to anything, and your plans sound really interesting.
Send me an email and we can discuss possibilities..... | Posted Nov 25, 2009 3:40 pm |
