I'm going to Peru for a medical expedition aimed at crossing some passes near Macchu Picchu and delivering healthcare to high villages. It lasts from August 7 to August 21, which gives me a few weeks to kick it before med-school restarts on Sept 13. I heard Peruvian peaks are slightly out-of-season during that time unless you're lucky so I was thinking of going to Bolivia or Ecuador for whatever I can get even if it be difficult like Illimani. I'm looking for someone to meet up with so we can enjoy some of the high summits of South America.

I learned to ice climb this winter in Ouray and also did Orizaba and Iztaccihuatl in Mexico. I'm doing a couple more 14ers in Colorado in a couple weeks as well as living in Taos in July with 3+ full days/week dedicated to mountains and dry tooling. The medical expedition has us crossing 15,000' passes so I'll be prepared physically.

Hey man,

My name is Garon also! I am an advanced climber and have done back-to-back summits of Orizaba in a day. I lead WI-4 and trad 5.9-5.10. I am an experienced high-altitude climber. I am in my first year of school for Nurse Practitioner (turned down Med School in favor of having more time to climb..LOL). Would be psyched to explore the possibility of Peru or Ecuador - high altitude or even more technical routes. I have a dear friend living in Taos.

Classes finish late July and don't start again until first week of September. Let me know if you are interested (ultimateexpedition@gmail.com).
