Description
I am planning on going to South America and climbing some peaks in Ecuador and/or Argentina. I am thinking of Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, and Cayambe in Ecuador and looking into an Aconcagua attempt in Argengina. I am planning on flying to Ecuador January 20, 2008 and plan on spending a couple weeks climbing there. Then, depending on how those peaks go, travel to Mendoza and get set up for Aconcagua. I know this is very short notice, but if anyone is interested in joining me, let me know! (I am open to other suggestions too).

| Hi!
I am based in Cordoba, in central Argentina and eager for partners for technical mountaineering (around AD alpine grade) in the central Andes (around Mendoza and San Juan).
Perhaps you plan to acclimatize in the area around Aconcagua before actually setting of into the provincial park and up the quebradas. If so, I would be interested in accompanying you there and doing some technical climbs in the Mendoza area in February or March.
Interesting areas include the Cajon de Arenales near Tunuyan (good rock climbs), the Cordon del Plata near Potrerillos (some snow couloirs but more likely scree) and on both sides of the road between Mendoza and Santiago de Chile.
Keep in touch,

| I'm in Quito and am also looking for climbing partners. Let me know if you're rolling through here. The weather has been lousy but it's always different above 16,000 feet! | Posted Jan 10, 2008 9:33 pm |
