Description
I am located in Corvallis and looking to do some winter climbing in the next few months. I am thinking of doing things like St Helens, Hood, Shasta, perhaps Diamond pk. I stayed in the lower cascades last winter doing various hikes and camping, but am pretty confident in trying some more interesting things this winter, as that was less challenging than expected for someone just transplanted from the NE at the time.
I have climbed a bunch of the Cascades in summer, and did many winter trips in the Adirondacks when I lived back east so I have plenty of experience with winter conditions both camping and mountaineering.
I like doing routes other than the standard ones when possible (Lava ridge on Adams, Wintun Ridge Shasta, for example) but I am really just looking to get out there this winter and do some peaks, with some interesting routes if they are not too technical. I am willing to do long routes with overnights to get in some interesting ascents.
If you are interested, let me know. It's hard to find people who will bite on the winter climbing, so I am always happy to hear from people who get the same fun out of it as I do and might want to join up.
