Description
I'm an experienced backpacker who enjoys winter overnights in the High Peaks, Whites, and Catskills. I'm looking for a climbing partner for non-technical winter summits (snowshoes and crampons, on trail or bushwack). My usual trips involve a 3-4 day weekend, setting up a basecamp and climbing a few peaks each day in the area. I'm also interested in 2-3 day alpine-style traverses (Great Range, Presidential Range, southern Maine). I travel light, but I'm not fanatical about gear. I prefer camping to hostels or lodges. I have done some back-country XC skiing too.
I usually plan 4-day trips around MLK and Presidents Day weekends, although I am flexible at work and could do other weekends as well. Depending on snow conditions, I would like to get out for four days around MLK weekend, 1/14 to 1/17, and around Presidents Day, 2/18 to 2/21.
Drop me a line with dates and suggested itinerary if you're interested. Unfortunately I can't count on having access to a car (my wife will need our car), but I am very creative with public transportation, and always willing to pay my way in any carpooling arrangement.
