My wife and I are heading to Yosemite July 26-Aug 2. I would like to knock off some of the classic moderate alpine routes in the area while we're there. My goals are the Snake dike, Cathedral with Eichorn's, Matthes crest, and maybe Tenaya. I've been climbing rock and ice sporadically for the past 2 yrs, so I'm on the beginner end of the spectrum. I've led 5.7 and followed 5.9, but plan to focus more on climbing between now and then in preparation for this trip. My hope was to do these routes with the wife, but I'm becoming sceptical that will happen. She wants to do more hiking and site seeing, so if you have a significant other that's into that stuff we may be the perfect match. We both have a lot of medical training, an adventurous spirit, pretty good fitness, and reasonable athleticism. I would be willing to pay someone to guide us both up these routes if you have the credentials, experience, and personality to convince her to participate. Otherwise, i'd be stoked to find someone else to climb with and she can entertain herself on those days.
