Ms. Winger is well known to many in the hiking community; both she and her husband have written a number of books and published photographs; she is hardly an interloper. It is clear to me that her posts are not abuse, nor are those of others in this or similar threads. The "law" is interpretable by the moderators. To paraphrase a well-known quote, "Abuse" is not easy to define, but you know it when you see it.

Which begs the question of why resurrect an old thread that had long since dropped from the list of current threads... just to lob water balloons from the gallery on a slow Sunday?

I guess I'm not supposed to treat women equal after all! A commercial post is a commercial post, regardless of the gender of the poster. If we are going to have rules, we should follow them and the elves should enforce them. If asking for that makes me a villain then so be it. Regardless how much you contribute, one can not make ANY COMMERICIAL posts, regardless the premise, that will financially benefit them. Regardless of gender, climbing ability, Power Rating etc.
