Description
Plan a self guided traverse of Aconcagua via the Polish glacier and then descend via the normal route. Seeking atleast 1 additional team member to join. Basic glacier travel skills prefered but not essential. Preference to climb light and fast. I have previously reached 6,600m on Aconcagua via the normal route but turned back due to high winds. Exact dates to be confirmed depending upon team members.

| I have lots of experience treking at altitude (upto 6000M) and extreme weather conditions but do not have the confidence and skills to do the Polish glacier route. Hence my preference for the Polish traverse.
One other concern would be that you will have some recent altitude experience and would have a greater degree of acclimatization so you would probally want to push on more quickly than someone with less acclimatizaion like myself. LIke endurance training I would guess acclimation wears off quickly after 2 - 3 weeks. I was considering a short trip to the Cordon del plata before Aconcagua.

| By any chance did your trip move to 2012? I am going to Mendoza on December 11th 2012. | Posted Nov 20, 2012 5:44 pm |
