MtnAv8rRe: routes this summer

MtnAv8r

I'm planning several Shasta climbs this year, starting in Feb. on the Southwest routes, and moving to the northern routes into summer. However, this all depends on getting some decent snow cover.

Herbert,
I live on the east coast, and am hoping to go to Washington & Oregon to climb several peaks over a week or two this summer. I have climbed Baker and Adams but wouldn't mind going back. Mostly, I want to go up Rainier.

I'd be up for some trips. Rainier, Shuksan, Assiniboine, rock near Canmore, some aid at Index, Oregon volcanoes, sport climbing, etc... let's throw out some dates, see what we can come up with. maybe some easy stuff until we know we can handle some bigger objectives.

I'm down I-680 from you. I'm interested in climbing Rainier sometime. It would be fun to take on Liberty Ridge but I'd be happy with any route. Also, I'm looking for partners to climb in the High Sierra.

I was thinking of Hood or a new route on Shasta this year 2007. Looking for a partner in August?

How about an 07-08 winter ascent for either of the above. I watch Shasta all year long and except for brief window in March, the mountain really never came into condition for a good climb this year.

Dude may be we should try to do some shit together. It looks like we have much in common. I am going to the Cascades in a few weeks. I’ve just done West Face Gully with beginners (one of them is going to climb Denali next week) but planned Whitney Glacier. What I was thinking about???

There are people who climb mountains and mountaineers. I am looking for the later. So let me know.

I'm about three years late to this post, but I live in your area and am game for any typical weekend trip in the Sierras. Shasta is on my list as well, but never got around to it. I'll be hanging out around Sonora Pass this weekend if anyone cares to meet. Was there two weeks ago and looked like there was still plenty of snow on Leavitt Peak and all the ridges. Cheers.
