Description
I am looking for someone to climb with in Washington State in late June or the first week of July - hopefully someone who is willing to share their expertise with an eager to learn but less experienced midwestern climber. My goal (ideally) is to lead at least one pitch of a low 5th class alpine peak with some easy / moderate glacier travel involved. I am leading in low 5th class range now, experienced in multi-pitch (although could use some refresher), but do not have experience leading in the alpine environment. I have one basic alpine climbing course under my belt and have basic crevasse rescue, glacier travel, etc. knowledge. Have been climbing for about 10 years, mostly in the 5.8 range on top-rope / second.
