Description
Heading to Mt Earnslaw (45km North of Queenstown) in Nov/Dec this year. Hiking up through Kea Basin to Wright Col and NE face from Esquilant bivvy at 2200m. Normal NE face route is not much more than a scramble in summer. More challenging routes available from the bivvy if desired. Some International SP company could be fun. Rock bivvies and camping also available in Kea Basin at about 1000m for anyone who doesn't want to go all the way up (Could suit non-climbing family members??) No permits, no red tape, no fees, no crowds!
