Description

Looking for a partner to climb Rainier this summer! I'm 18 years old, would love to get into climbing but am stuck in the catch-22 of needing experience to climb but needing to climb to gain experience. I am very athletic and would have no problem doing it physically, but someone with knowledge and experience would be greatly appreciated to help teach me a little! I'm amiable, intelligent, and safe. I learn quickly. I read "Freedom of the Hills" religiously, practice knots in my dorm, have had basic experience with an ice axe and crampons in the Cabinet mountains where I live, have done self-arrest and belays. Would love to get more involved in this amazing sport, just need a little kickstart!

	Hey, I'll be in WA for a work trip and will be available to attempt Rainier May 9-12. I don't have a ton of glacier experience myself and feel like I'm in the same boat as you. If you end up finding some more people to go with, I'd love to join up. Either way, I'd be happy to have at least one partner. Nate

	Hi. I am interested in Rainier or even Mt. Baker. I am from Houston. I am a regular hiker/backpacker and a beginner mountaineer - have done a couple of couloir climbs. I go regularly to colorado and have experience with hiking in snow, ice axe, and crampons. I have taken the following courses: (1) Ice Axe self arrest, building snow anchors, roping up in a team (2) day long avalanche lesson. I will be taking a crevasse rescue course in April. I will be in the cascades between July 4 and 7. Unfortunately the dates are non-negotiable for me. I do not have any glacier experience. Ashish

	Hey if you live in the Seattle area you should join my Mountaineering group. We are practicing mountaineering skills and go on climbs weekly. Check out our blog we just started mountaineerers.blogger.com. We are definitely trying to climb Rainer this summer plus tons of other mountains.
