Description

Hi,

My name is Chad. I'm 23 years old, from Victoria, British Columbia, currently in my senior year of University in South Bend, Indiana. I have been researching and preparing for an ascent of Denali during the spring of 2017.

I have lived in Western Canada for all of my life, growing up in the small but now well-known ski town of Revelstoke, BC. Admittedly, my experience with high altitude alpine mountaineering is very limited, but I have been climbing mountains all of my life. I play NCAA varsity hockey, am in good shape, have been researching for the expedition, and will be well geared and prepared. I graduate near the middle of May, 2017, and intend to return to the West Coast to climb Mt. Rainier in late May to check gear and prepare for Denali, which I hope to begin in early-mid June.

I originally intended to do the climb with my father, who is experienced with backcountry skiing, glacier travel and crevasse rescue. However, he is currently uncertain whether he wishes to do the climb. If he does not, I am interested in finding a partner or joining another group. If he does, we still may be interested in partnering up or joining up with another group. Additionally, if you are planning an ascent, and have room for another team member, please feel free to reach out to me. I can be reached via e-mail at ckatunar@nd.edu.

Thanks,
Chad

I'm not interested in doing another Denali trip, but I did see on cascade climbers partner section somebody recently posted also looking to get a Denali team together. Might be worth looking into that. Good luck: Finding a good team is half the battle.
