Description

Hi,

I'm planning on taking a year off, climbing in South America starting June 2010. I want to start out in Peru and do as many mountaineering peaks as I can. I'll mostly be aiming at AD-D-TD routes. For the rest of the year my plans is not fixed yet, but I'm aiming to go to Patagonia, Ecuador and Bolivia at least. maybe even Venezuella for some rock climbing.

If anybody is looking for partners during this period, please let me know. I'm also open for other suggestions for climbing on the continent.

Cheers

Hi Erwil I did exactly the same thing - 1 year climbing in SA - in 2007.
Give a look to my blog and pictures and do not hesitate to ask me any suggestion. It was the best year of my life - NO DOUBT

HI there, thanks for the responses. I've been trying to send e-mails but for some reason it doesn't work.

Epica, June-August is best for Peru, thats right. If you definately have plans to go there we have to keep in touch. Once we have made contact over there we can arange to do something. We can also make arangements beforehand if it will suit youu better.

Silvio, thanks for the links. Iv'e looked at it and it looks very cool. Also, if you are going to Peru in July, keep in touch with me. I wanted to ask you, how easy/diffficult do you think it would be to find climbing partners in Huaraz?

My experience is as follows: Toclaraju, Chopicalqui, Urus, Aconcagua, Mout Kenya, Mont Blanc (all by the normal routes). I also do sport climbing up to 5.11a and are getting into the trad thing. Ice climbing I have done on occasion but I wouldn't call myself an ice-climber...yet!

My e-mail is erwilvandermerwe@gmail.com

Cheers guys, and keep in touch!
