Re: Sweet!

Thanks! Beside the colors, it's so quiet there!

Silence is a good thing to have around.
It gives the living a chance to contemplate
the time it took to create scenes like this.

Wow, Larry,

What a striking photo! I love the way you have included the rocks and the tree in the foreground. This way you have framed the lake. Just love it.
3 big Cheers,
Marc

Re: Wow, Larry,

Glad you like it, Marc!

But .. I still haven't found a way to access
the peaks on the other side of the lake.

I suppose if I wait till summer, I can swim across !!!
: ))

Re: Wow, Larry,

No way to walk around the lake?

Re: Wow, Larry,

No, there's private property blocking on the
north and east. The granite bedrock has eroded
into a series of perilous canyons and steep-sided ridges that very few have explored.

Another option would be to rent a boat! : )

Boat

You could carry a small inflateable dingy along atop your pack. I did that in Scotland. Then this ripple (quite like the one in the photo here) came across the water and I wondered if a plesiosaur (Nessy) was going to appear.

Re: Boat

Even when the sea is calm, don't take your
personal safety for granted.

I was enjoying the sea-water off the coast
of Southern Leyte, and a bloody sea urchin
(spiny little devil) got my wife's cousin
on the bottom of her right foot.

The remedy is laughter, when applying fresh, warm urine directly to the point of the wound.

And .. it helps to snuff out the life of the
sea urchin, and swiftly bury it in the sand
along the rocky shoreline.

Very nice one

That ripple line and the calmer water go well together, as does the fore- and background. I wanna lay me down and go a fishin' by that thar tree.
