Re: Is this..

Joshua Tree it is. It's a formation called the Slash Boulder, the actual climb being called "Slash Face" due to the clean horizontal cuts which make it so much fun to climb. It is located out in the Geology Tour Road area, not far from the famous route called Equinox. The crux is the lower half, probably about 5.11b or c depending on your tallness... Since the climb is short it is usually done without a rope, although it would be easy to set up a top rope by scrambling up the back.

You climb out in Josh much? It's local for me so I am a regular there.

Cheers, Kris

Hi Kris

You are lucky that it's local for you, it's a fantastic place. No, I don't climb there much, I've actually only been there once and climbed for a couple of days, it was absolutely super, but, maybe it's time I made my way there again, your pic brought back some great memories!

Re: rather

Thankfully the harder part is the lower half.
