Re: Unbelievable!Thanks Vid! They are there all the time, amazing folks, true last Mohicans. Each time you pass by their house they call you to drink something. Around the house there are only few meadows. Rest is only Velebit karst and rock so they can’t grow much. Every now and then Jole goes with his mules to Starigrad Paklenica to buy provision. It is 2.40h in one direction. Far to go to shopping :-) Children live on the coast and do visit them.
As far as I know there is only one more place on Velebit where people live far from roads and any signs of civilization. It is in Zagon hamlet, on the way from Ljubotic towards Stap. But they are not normal like Jole. They look strange and talk strange. I have great portraits but did not post because it would seam like mocking. I don't know is it from very hard life in the mountain, which can deform face, or they were born like that.
