1968 Plane Crash Site

This view is of the Nov 30, 1968 Airplane Crash Site that occurred on the south peak of Mt Lincoln. (Refer NTSB Crash Report Image). The plane evidently crashed into these boulders while approaching from the south. In this image you are looking north toward the South peak of Mt Lincoln. If hiking to this area, please respect the site and do not disturb the debris field.

Plane crash

Our scout troop would winter camp a Fawn Creek every Christmas vacation. Every year, at least one group would head for the crash site. I remember the engine laying there, missing the heads. Unfortunately, I know of a black sequin dress and a golf club that came off the mountain.
