Re: Hat's off

Misha, not only did he lead that, but also Black Tide, then he followed Cherry Bomb and Heart and Sole, that after pretty hard morning messing with Roadside Rocks etc. He's amazing guy and not only as a climber. His stories and knowledge of J Tree made our trip the most fascinating experience for me. I wish the same thoughts as you do, it was my pleasure to give him belay and for him to let me see what's possible (even bit later in life).

Me too!

I hope I can still climb that well at 74. That guy's an inspiration!

Rob:

Tom and I talked the other night over couple of beers here in Idyllwild. He's retired here. Told me that he climbed over 500 routes in J Tree since the late 50s and has them ALL documented and cataloged. Now wouldn't we all want to get our hands on those notes? Yeh, the man is special! But he says there are guys like him everywhere, he invited me to go with his buddies and him climbing in JT again. They are all 70+ and still cranking 10s. I just renewed my gym subscription in eager anticipation. Alois.
