A cairn along the way to the glacier

... with Huascarán Sur in the background. Actually, there are cairns all over the place between the refuge and the place where the route goes on the glacier. And even without them, as long as you keep the glacier tongue to your left as long as possible while going higher, you can hardly go wrong. However, I can imagine that, in poor visibility, they are useful on the descent to the refugio. 6 August 2011.
