A Chimney Tops Requiem

The Chimney Tops Trail in GSMNP has been closed indefinitely, due to the damage that was caused by the Chimney Tops 2 fire which started on November 23, 2016. I can only assume at this point that this is still a police line due to the fact that there are two teenagers under custody at this time who are charged with starting the fire, by dropping matches along the trail. The fire resulted in 14 deaths and many millions of dollars in property damage. Great Smoky Mountains National Park April 30, 2017
