A closer look at climbers on the Kleinlitzner Via Ferrata

This group was quite slow. They had left the Saarbrücker Hütte well before we did, but we passed them half way up, and by the time we were coming down again they still had a way to go. But the weather stayed fine, so there was no need to hurry up, and they were having a ball. Right now they are on one of the more exposed sections, shortly below the top of the gully. The Via Ferrata hugs the rocky slopes, and there are plenty of places for hands and feet, in addition to the steel cable. If you zoom in, you can see the cable, and lots of steel pegs drilled into the rocks to aid with the climb. It's exposed, but apart from that it's not difficult. The Via Ferrata is rated B/C. 20 July 2013.
