A cold morning at 6800m. Deep...

A cold morning at 6800m. Deep snow from last night's heavy snowfall covered the fixed ropes. The tracks are made by climbers turning back at the point where I'm in the photo. You'll get a picture of the steepness looking at the holes in the snow, made from falling ice and snow particles from seracs higher up en route. 55-60 degrees is my guess.

You're looking up.

The photo is shot by either one of the Russians or Turks, climbing with me that day. As I was there alone and changed climbing partners from day to day and I don't remember who to credit for this particular photo. They were waiting a bit for me to reach a place where I could sit down and rest a bit.
