A cross just below the final push to the Gfallwand summit plateau

I don't know the reason behind this cross. It's located high on the WNW ridge, less than 10 minutes below the summit plateau. There is no summit cross, but this one certainly isn't meant to be a substitute. It's much smaller than a normal summit cross and I only saw it when I was just a few minutes away. 16 July 2013.
