A descending climber on the trail from Chopicalqui

On our way up, not far below moraine camp, we met several climbers coming down. It's a popular mountain, but by no means easy, and while I don't have any precise statistics, from anecdotal evidence I've concluded that a substantial number that try, don't make it to the summit. Chopicalqui is in the background. Fortunately that steep slope is not the route; it looks too dangerous as well as too difficult for me! 16 August 2011.
